FLORIAN KOCH YAKSHA

This deep house track is treated with jagged production, adding a sense of unease to the woodwind-like synths, with varying levels of reverb being used to add emphasis where it’s needed most. ‘Yaksha’ is a slow build, with smoothly wailing voices being added about halfway through, creating an ethereal vibe to the already hauntingly atmospheric track. It’s taken from Florian Koch’s latest EP Anandamaya, (meaning “surrounded by bliss”). If an EP has ever reflected its title perfectly, it’s this, as the “deep, free and melodic mind of Florian Koch” provides a stunningly reflective release. -Dan Peeke
